It is really very expensive to be a student in Nigeria because of  the countless expenses you have to make frequently. Expenses like transportation, purchasing textbooks & handouts, feeding, accommodation,  paying departmental dues, buying personal wares which might include clothes, shoes, cosmetics and others.  It will be very unfair to leave all these expenses on the shoulders of your parents especially when they belong to the middle or low class income earners.  So for this reason, students should engage themselves in some little jobs that will be fetching them some money in order to ease off the high expenses.  Some students engage themselves in theft and other illegal activities when they are broke which might jeopardize their future, working as a student is advisable to avoid other illegal vices to make money.  There are many business ideas  and opportunities in campus which can fetch you some money as a student.

This is a very big business to do in campus. We all know and see that youths are paying much attention to their looks, especially the females.  Starting up a beauty salon is a business that can fetch you a lot of money in a short period of time. A beauty salon should offer  services like barbing,  hair dressing,  pedicure, manicure, make-up artist etc. I know it will require much money to start it up, but do not be discouraged, rather you can start any of this services  and then expand it to a standard level as soon as you start making large profits.

2. TUTORING

This is another  well paying business idea to do in campus. But this requires you to know a particular skill or subject very well for you to teach others. Many students fail to understand in lectures which might be caused by the way a lecturer is teaching, over-crowding  of lecture halls etc. So in order for the students to cover up, some start attending tutorial classes. So if you have the skills or understand better than others you can get paid to teach others. One good thing about this idea is that it is very easy to start and you won’t need  a lot of capital to start it up. Print flyers,  talk to students in classes an advertise your skills, trust me, people who needs the knowledge will start trooping.

3. SELLING PAST QUESTION PAPERS AND HANDOUTS

Selling past question papers and handouts is really thriving in campus, so you can also give it a try.  Most students prefer to read past question papers during exam time than books, so you have to take advantage of this opportunity to make some money. Same thing also applies in handouts, most students prefer buying and reading  handouts  because textbooks are more expensive and stressful, so they tend to concentrate more in handouts. I think this business idea is worth trying.

4. GRAPHIC DESIGNING

This profession is one of the best paying jobs in campus,  advertisement is key to create awareness , so almost everything done in campus are printed in papers and pasted all around campus.  Banners, flyers, stickers, posters are commonly seen everywhere in campus and they are gotten from the services of a graphic designer. Buy the necessary materials and start it up, you will never lack money.

5. ELECTRONIC SHOP

This is yet another fantastic business idea to start up in school. You can open up a shop where you  will be selling phone chargers, earpieces, headphones, USB cables,  phone batteries etc. These materials are in hot demand  from students and can fetch you some money within a short period of time. You can also a buy a small generator and start charging people’s phones, no student can withstand seeing their phone OFF. And as a matter of fact, the level of electricity supply in this country is pitiful, so you can make good use of this flaw and make money in campus.

Football is no doubt, the most popular  when it comes to sports and it’s very rare to see a youth (especially the guys) that doesn’t watch football.  And almost everyone one of them prefers to go to viewing centres ,  even those that have Dstv at their lodges.
